Martin happy to share his room
Like the rest of the seniors on Virginia Tech’s football team, defensive end Orion Martin has his own hotel room this week.
But unlike the others, the Hokies’ defensive end is sharing a room on the seven-night trip. But that’s OK with him — his roommate is his new wife.
Ten days ago in their hometown of [...]

Myron Pryor hopes a NFL career is waiting for him. But don’t think the Kentucky senior defensive tackle has anything but beating East Carolina on his mind this week.

Holtzclaw sets sights on pros
With single-minded determination and a chip on his shoulder, former Enid standout Daniel Holtzclaw became one of the most feared linebackers in the Mid-American Conference, etched his name in the record books at Eastern Michigan and finished his collegiate career as the nation’s career active leader in tackles.
Now, Holtzclaw hopes to use that same determination [...]
Morris named Bucs defensive coordinator
It didn’t take long for the Bucs to settle on Monte Kiffin’s replacement.
Get Gary the Ball, He’s Earned It
Ignoring the obvious example of interchangable running backs in Baltimore and Oakland, and reference to the Cardinals humorous attempt at the wishbone in Week 12, clearly the moving trend in the NFL is no longer a two-back set. Many teams are using three now, and Pittsburgh can be said they were among the leaders of [...]

Martin had much more important business on his itinerary: He was getting married in his hometown of Martinsville.
Martin, 23, exchanged vows with his fiance, Jennifer Edwards, whom he met in church in Martinsville about eight months ago. Martin proposed to [...]

Tomlin: Emergence of a Rising Star
Living in Youngstown, Ohio, both Heinz Field and Cleveland Browns Stadium are exactly an hour and a half away in opposite directions. The taverns in Youngstown are filled with both Hatfields and McCoys, half Steelers’ fans and half Browns’ fans. Recently a digruntled Browns’ fan came up to me proclaiming that the Browns’ [...]
Mack Recalls Lists of Firsts
Atlanta Falcons rookie quarterback Matt Ryan has played like a veteran, leading his team to an 8-5 record and playoff contention.
From Ryan’s unexpected rookie success, to today’s important home game against Tampa Bay, everything he is experiencing this season is a first.
Bucs cornerback Elbert Mack is also a rookie, but without the fanfare, and he [...]
