Furman’s Joel Bell Named To Walter Camp Foundation All-America Team

Furman offensive tackle Joel Bell has been named to Walter Camp Foundation 2008 Football Championship Subdivsion (FCS) All-America Team, it was announced today.

Bell, a 6-foot-8, 318-pound senior from Spartanburg, S.C., was one of six Southern Conference players named to the 24-member squad selected by vote of head coaches and sports information directors of FCS schools.

“We’re very happy for Joel and the commitment he made to Furman football over the last several years,” said Paladin head coach Bobby Lamb on Friday.

A three-year starter and two-time All-Southern Conference selection, he was recently tabbed by league head coaches as the SoCon’s 2008 Jacobs Blocking Award winner

He is the 11th Paladin offensive lineman to garner All-America honors this decade and the 18th All-Ameica offensive lineman in Furman history.
