Giants receive Super Bowl rings

In a fifth-floor boardroom overlooking Fifth Avenue, several Giants offensive linemen were posing for pictures with their immense and suddenly shiny fists extended. One by one they would stand in front of the wood-paneled wall, holding the silver Lombardi Trophy in one grip and wearing a freshly minted Super Bowl ring on the other.

Talk about some heavy metal.

Just under four months after their victory in Super Bowl XLII, the Giants received their championship rings in a private ceremony at Tiffany & Co. last night. More than 80 of the diamond-stuffed finger-flaunters were handed out - each with an estimated appraisal value of $25,000 - as players and coaches capped their victory tour. “It’s been a great couple of months, but this kind of makes it official,” Eli Manning said.

David Tyree put it a different way: “It means I get to bling this thing!”
